The aim was to engage with the Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) in order to conclude a win-win partnership.

The President and Chief Scientific Officer of ITSI-Biosciences, a manufacturer of turnkey biomedical research kits, was hosted by CRID on 24 March 2025. For this working visit, Dr Richard Somiari was accompanied by Sully Grantz, Foreign Affairs Officer, and Christopher Ekom, Commercial specialist at the United States Embassy in Cameroon. The meeting began with a presentation of CRID and its activities, made by Prof Charles Wondji, Executive Director. He laid emphasis on the reagents and equipment needed for CRID’s laboratories to operate efficiently. For his part, Dr Somiari outlined the various tools, facilities and services offered by his company, which are perfectly in line with CRID’s needs. After some discussions on possible ways of collaboration to improve procurement of scientific supplies, the guests visited Laboratory 3 dedicated to Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques. The CRID delegation that received the guests included Murielle Wondji, laboratory Manager; Dr Emmanuel Elanga, Deputy Head of Medical Entomology Department; and Falenne Kwalar, Head of Finance
