Position: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Health Economist
Location: CRID, Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Role Summary
CRID is seeking to recruit a Health Economist to enhance its capacity in conducting comprehensive economic evaluations within its public health research portfolio. This position is critical for generating robust evidence on the costs, cost-effectiveness, and financial implications of health interventions, while providing insights into affordability, budgetary impact, and sustainability. Working in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and policy stakeholders, the Health Economist will ensure that economic analyses effectively inform decision-making processes for national programmes, donors, and global health partners. This role underscores CRID’s commitment to advancing informed, data-driven strategies that promote efficient and sustainable health solutions.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Health Economics, Health Policy, Public Health, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in applied health economics, preferably in LMICs.
- Strong expertise in cost-effectiveness analysis, economic modelling, and health systems research.
- Demonstrated experience in collecting and analyzing primary cost data in field settings.
Desirable
- Experience with NMCPs, WHO, or donor-funded projects.
- Knowledge of equity analysis in health economics.
- Fluency in English and French.
