Background
Aurelie holds her PhD in Animal Biology and Physiology with a focus on medical entomology from the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon in 2022. Her thesis focused on assessing the resistance profile of Aedes aegypti and A. albopictus (arbovirus vectors) to insecticides and the potential resistance mechanisms involved. She started her Postdoc at CRID in 2022, working to investigate the molecular basis of insecticide resistance in Aedes mosquitoes in Cameroon. She is also involved in the entomological surveillance of arboviruses outbreak in Cameroon with the Ministry of Public Health. |

- Research Areas:
Aedes-borne viral diseases such as dengue, chikungunya, yellow fever and Zika are increasingly reported in Cameroon. Given the lack of a specific treatment and the reduced efficacy of the vaccine for most of these diseases, vector control using insecticides remains the cornerstone to fighting this disease. However, insecticide resistance of vectors has emerged as a significant challenge to the efficacy of this control, making it crucial to understand the molecular drivers of this resistance.
