With funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, we have established the African Consortium in Modelling for Effective Vector Control (ACoMVeC) comprising of a number of research institutions. With objective to support malaria mathematical modelling capacity-building efforts across sub-Saharan Africa with a specific focus on vector control to help maximise its impact and reduce malaria burden. We need an ambitious, dynamic and focus post-doctoral fellow who will significantly contribute to the success and implementation of our objectives.
Your duties will be to support this objective at the Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) principally on Improving modellers’ access to timely, high-quality data by doing the following:
- Supporting in following up a cohort of PhD -students Modellers across Africa;
- Help in putting in place the Modelling units within national malaria control program (NMCP) in some countries;
- Putting to evidence policy briefs from the Modelling studies;
- Publishing Peer-reviewed publications on key modelling topics;
- Strengthening of data repository online platforms in vector biology to support modelling;
- Strengthening of modelling Units in some African universities;
- Organising webinars, symposiums at conferences, student exchange programs and training visits…..
