Scientists, students and researchers now have the opportunity to sequence their samples at the Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) at just 9000 FCFA per sample.
Affordable, fast and reliable: these are the core principles guiding CRID’s sequencing service. Thanks to our state-of-the-art facilities and our team of qualified scientists, we can deliver high-quality Sanger sequencing results in just 7 – 10 days. Recognising the importance of logistics, we have partnered with a trusted national transport provider to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of samples across Cameroon. Our Sanger sequencing platform is equipped with an ABI3500XL genetic analyser, guaranteeing precision and consistency.
What is Sanger sequencing?
Sanger sequencing is a method used to determine the order of the four chemical building blocks, or nucleotides, that make up an organism’s DNA. This technique allows scientists to “read” the genetic code of an organism by defining the arrangement of nucleotides known as A, C, G and T. By doing so, researchers can understand the genetic basis of diseases, develop genetic tests, and identify genetic variations that can help with good diagnosis and adequate medical treatment. Why Outsource Your Sequencing to CRID?
Outsourcing your sequencing needs to CRID offers a range of strategic advantages, especially for institutions seeking high-quality results at an affordable cost. At just 9,000 XAF per sample, our Sanger sequencing service is one of the most cost-effective options available, eliminating the need for expensive equipment purchases and maintenance. By partnering with CRID, you gain access to a team of experienced scientists and technicians who ensure precision and reliability in every run. The service is also scalable, allowing you to process large volumes of samples without overburdening your internal resources. Most importantly, outsourcing to CRID allows your team to focus on what matters most—data analysis, interpretation, and advancing your research goals—while we handle the technical complexities of sequencing.
A step-forward in AvecGen project
Since October 2024 and thanks to a funding from Gates Foundation, CRID is engaged in setting-up the African Centre for Vector Genomics (AvecGen). This initiative will establish cutting-edge genomics and bioinformatics infrastructure, positioning CRID as the continent’s leading regional reference hub for malaria vector research and innovation. This will be made possible through strategic partnerships with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) and the Malaria Genomic Epidemiology Network (MalariaGEN). In the coming days, CRID will launch its Next Generation Sequencing services, comprising Whole genome sequencing. Stay Tuned!
