Background
Dr Nguetsa Franck is a Public Health Physician. He is a holder of a Doctoral in Medicine from the University of Buea and a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Public health from University of Dschang Cameroon. He is also enrolled for a University Degree in Digital health at the University of Yaoundé 1. Franck has demonstrated a keen interest in various fields, such as humanitarian health, community health systems, Clinical research for infectious diseases control and elimination, the appropriate use of eLearning for the training of health professionals in Africa, the use of digital health and telemedicine tools to support healthcare in Africa. Dr Nguetsa worked under the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) at Good Neighbors International as a volunteer program assistant for Neglected tropical diseases control project implemented in 30 health districts of the Centre region of Cameroon. He also worked with the Cameroon’s Ministry of Public health in the surveillance of infectious diseases at the health district level before being appointed in Central African Republic as an epidemiologist for a project funded by UNICEF: Prevention and management of acute severe malnutrition and childhood illness. His work focused on community prevention, screening and management of severe acute malnutrition and childhood illness. After this, he worked as medical coordinator for a Chandian refugee Camp at Paoua in Central African Republic where he contributed in the coordination of several public health interventions for refugees’ protection under the supervision of UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). Franck is passionate about the use of innovative digital tools to detect and quickly respond to disease threat in Africa. He was recently appointed as member of the African Volunteer Health corps (AVoHC) a network of African medical and public health professionals, established by the African Union to support the response to public health emergencies in Africa. |

Dr Nguetsa’s current work at CRID, as Therapeutic Efficacy study monitor is focused in the preparation and implementation of prospective evaluations of patients’ clinical and parasitological responses to directly observed treatment for uncomplicated malaria, allowing for the early detection of resistance and provide evidence for guiding national malaria treatment policy. |

–Member of the Cameroon Medical Council -Member of the African Volunteer Health corps (AVoHC) a network of African medical and public health professionals, established by the African Union to support the response to public health emergencies in Africa. AVoHC members receive special training and work with the country’s existing emergency response structures, with support from the Africa CDC Regional Collaborating Centres.
