Position: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Social Scientist
Location: CRID, Yaoundé, Cameroon (with frequent travel to study sites)
Role Summary
CRID is seeking to recruit a Social Scientist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating all social science research activities within CRID. These activities include protocol development, tool design, training and supervision of field teams, qualitative data collection, management and analysis, and stakeholder engagement. The role also ensures that social science findings are effectively integrated into the broader public health outcomes, and that community perspectives and social dynamics are adequately reflected in recommendations for major decision making and strategies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential
-
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Anthropology, Sociology, Public Health, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in applied social science research, research promotion, political engagement, or public health advocacy.
- Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research methods and participatory approaches.
Desirable
- Experience working with NMCPs, WHO, or other donor-funded projects.
- Knowledge of equity, inclusion, and vulnerability analysis in public health.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
