Position: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Research Uptake and Advocacy Officer
Location: CRID, Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Role Summary
The Research Uptake and Advocacy Officer will be responsible for ensuring that research findings and innovations generated by CRID are effectively communicated, disseminated, and translated into policy and practice. This role bridges research, policy, and community engagement, ensuring that CRID’s evidence base informs national and regional strategies for disease control and public health improvement.
The officer will also lead advocacy efforts with government institutions, NGOs, development partners, and communities to promote the uptake of evidence-based interventions, while addressing barriers to implementation, access, and sustainability.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Political Science, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in research uptake, policy engagement, and/or advocacy within public health, preferably in malaria or infectious diseases
- Proven track record in policy influence, advocacy campaigns, and evidence translation.
- Strong understanding of malaria control and vector management strategies.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills in French and English.
- Experience engaging with Ministries of Health, NGOs, donors, and global health actors is an advantage
Desirable
- Experience with WHO, Global Fund, Unitaid, FCDO, Wellcome Trust, or similar donor-funded projects.
- Familiarity with clinical trial communication and dissemination.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (epidemiology, entomology, social sciences).
- Skills in participatory engagement and community mobilization in African contexts
