The Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) is recruiting two Master’s students in Microbiology as part of the ICARS-funded project: “Preventing the Spread of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) through Wastewater Used in Urban Agriculture in Cameroon.”
🔍 Internship Objectives
Selected students will support various research and field activities, including:
- Collection and microbiological analysis of environmental and food samples.
- Isolation, identification, and antibiotic susceptibility testing of resistant bacteria.
- Participation in laboratory and fieldwork.
- Assistance with data collection and analysis.
- Writing of scientific reports.
🧑🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- Having the required GPA in Master’s year 1 for admission to Master’s year 2
- Solid understanding of bacterial culture, microbiological techniques, and antibiotic resistance testing.
- Motivated, rigorous, and able to work in a team environment.
- Strong interest in public health and antimicrobial resistance research.
📍 Location: CRID, Yaoundé, Cameroon
📅 Start Date: January 2026
⏳ Duration: 6 months
💰 Compensation: Internship and monthly allowance provided
