ACoMVeC’s team will be holding a symposium during the upcoming PAMCA conference in Ethiopia, taking place from September 16th to 21st. The symposium, held under the theme “Why data-based mathematical models matter, and how can they be used to influence policies, save lives, and ensure a long-lasting optimal control of vector-borne diseases”, aims at presenting various research problems related to malaria modeling actually investigated within the consortium.
During the symposium, participants will engage in discussions and share experiences on how mathematical modeling can contribute to the optimization of mosquito vector control strategies through the design of appropriate settings. It will also showcase futuristic approaches to modeling vector control and assessing the effectiveness of currently available tools in mitigating vector progression and combating the emergence of vector resistance.
This symposium is taking place on September 18th, 2023, at the PAMCA conference venue in ballroom 2. The session will run for 1 hour and 30 minutes, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
