We are currently recruiting a Biomedical Stock Manager to join our team of at the Centre for Research in Infectioud Diseases office in Yaounde.
As a Biomedical stock Manager you will be in charge of the total inventory, ensuring all projects used and handled correctly their stocks, that systems are kept maintained and up to date. Monitor all stocks including entry/exit of reagents and consumables’, distribution of these internally to scientists after payment, work in collaboration with lab manager and Insectary manager to ensure timely purchase of reagents and consumables locally or abroad to refill the stock. You should be familiar with inventory processes, and responsible for the day to day management of our stock usage.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Day to day management of the system which includes the recording of movement in stock as well as the new way of stock checking.
Work closely with the Procurement officer, lab manager and Insectary manager to ensure you have everything you need to ensure good running and adequate methods in controlling the stock at all levels.
Manage the progressive stock check throughout the month and keep the system up to date
Identify any over stock or not in use materials/consumables that could reach expiry date and work with management to find solutions to using it up
Actively pursue better ways of working that enable cost saving, improve handling of materials, increase efficiency, lower scrap and smoother stock checks.
Collate financial info with the management team and finance looking at areas of improvement
Keeping the stock room clean and orderly
Placing orders for new supplies and reagents when necessary
Checking and unpacking newly arrived reagents and supplies
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidate must possess job experience in stock management.
BSc in Logistics, management or biomedical sciences, business administration or equivalent qualifications as Medical representative
Knowledge in accounting, finance
Candidate must be reliable, with a stable track record in inventory management and employee relations
Good Computer skills (Excel)
Good English – written and spoken
Great communication skills
Excellent organisational skills along with great time keeping
Positive and can-do attitude
Can work well under pressure
Candidate must possess job experience in stock management.
